  • SODIUM PETROLEUM SULPHONATE - PRODUCT CODE : GL - 1649

    GL 1649 Sodium petroleum sulfonates are unique materials because of their dual function as surfactants and rust inhibitors. The polar nature of the sulfonate end of the molecule functions as a typical anionic surfactant, orienting itself with water or other polar materials while the hydrocarbon tail provides the bridge to the nonpolar phase.

    FORMULATIONS:

    GL 1649 may be used at concentrations of 10% to 22% by weight in selected industrial and metalworking applications.

    APPLICATIONS:

    Metalworking Fluids

    • Sodium sulfonates have had a long history of use in metalworking fluids. GL 1649 function as emulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors.
    • In liquid system, sulfonates can hold oil and water apart so that they can co-exist & form an emulsion.
    • Suggested SPS : GL 1649L, GL 1649M

    Anti-Corrosion Compounds

    • High molecular weight sodium sulfonates adhere to metal surfaces and provide excellent moisture barriers. GL 1649H can be compounded with petroleum oils, waxes, petrolatums and various synthetic materials. Finished products are used in applications such as preservative oils and automotive rust proofing formulations. GL 1649H are also compatible with a wide range of solvents when thin films are desirable.
    • On solid surface, sulfonates functions like adhesive, holding oil to metal. By chemically bonding oil to metal, sulfonates prevent water and air from reaching the surface of the metal.

    Ore Flotation

    • GL 1649 sulfonates have been used as flotation agents for various metals and minerals. The ability of the sulfonates to wet the surface of particles renders the ore hydrophobic. This allows the ore to adhere to air bubbles and move to the surface in the froth.
    • In ore flotation, sulfonates bind the ore particles to air bubbles, in a froth, allowing them to rise and separate from rock.

    Demulsifiers

    • GL 1649H grade sulfonates can act as de-emulsifier. A Bulky structure prevents them from forming a continuous protective film around a droplet. This allows two droplets to contact one another, forming a large droplet which separates from solutions.

    Motor Oil and Fuel Additives

    • The sodium sulfonates are often converted to calcium or barium salts for this application; however, in some situations the sodium sulfonates may be preferred. Detergency and rust inhibitive properties are the most important functions of GL 1649H when used as additives.

    Overbasing

    • Overbasing is a process of beefing up a solfonate molecule with extra atoms like calcium and magnesium so that it will seek out and neutralize excess acids in a mixture. This process is typically used in motor oil additives.

  • MAGNESIUM PETROLEUM SULPHONATE - PRODUCT CODE: GL - 4444

    A highly basic magnesium sulfonate detergent and anti-rust additive.

    FORMULATIONS: Recommended for use at:
    0.5 to 2.0 % by weight 0.38 to 1.52% by volume. In suitable base stocks to provide detergency and anti-rust performance characteristics. Other oil additive components such as dispersants, inhibitors, anti-wear agents, etc., are also usually employed to provide a totally-performing additive package.

  • CALCIUM PETROLEUM SULPHONATE NEUTRAL - PRODUCT CODE: GL - 6411

    GL – 6411 is a high molecular neutral calcium sulfonate. The increased oil solubility of the organic portion of this sulfonate enables the product to provide rust protection and acts as dispersant for graphite and molybdenum disulfide. It can be used as an additive in lubricating oils, greases, rust inhibition, antiwear and hydraulic fluids. It is soluble in napthanic, paraffinic oils and all solvents.

    GL 8142 is a high molecular weight, oil soluble, Neutral Barium Sulfonate.

    It is recommended for formulations where high level of non staining – rust protection is desired.Can be used for formulating greases, hydraulic fluids, slushing oils, and other industrial products.

  • PIBSI DISPERSANT/ EMULSIFIER - PRODUCT CODE: GL - 1951

    GL 1951 is a ashless succinimide lubricating oil additive with extended thermal stability. It is generally used with alkaline detergents, corrosion and oxidation inhibitors, in gasoline and diesel engine oils. This additive provides excellent low temperature sludge and varnish control in gasoline engines and effective dispersancy for deposit control in both medium-speed and high temperature super-charged diesel engines.

    GL 3062 pour point depressant is used in motor oils, automotive and industrial gear lubricants, hydraulic fluids and other lubricant applications where economical pour point reduction is the major objective. It Provides Maximum Pour Point Depression in a Wide Range of Base Stocks

    Depending upon the properties of the base oil and the pour point desired, the dosage of GL 3062 required for most engine oil uses will range from 0.025% wt. to 0.50% wt. For automotive gear oil formulations the typical dosage of GL 3062 would range between 0.1% wt. to 2.0% wt. depending upon base oil and pour point desired.

  • TBN BOOSTER ADDITIVE - PRODUCT CODE: GL - 3062

    GL 4481 TBN Booster – 400 TBN has the advantages of excellent neutralization power & high temperature detergency and rust preventive property. It can be mainly used for blending high and medium grade lubricating oil used in internal combustion engines, marines and the engines which use fuel with high sulfur content so that lacquer and carbon residue deposits accumulated in the combustion chamber of the engines are not only greatly reduced, but also the cleanliness of the pistons can be maintained. Corrosion to the engine parts by acidic matters also can be prevented and its service time can be prolonged. Better compounding synergistic effect can be obtained with the addition of ashless dispersant, anti-oxidant and corrosion inhibitor.

    FORMULATIONS

    The quantity of the product to be added into lubricating oil is from 1.5% to 25.0% by wt. In suitable base stocks to provide detergency and anti-rust performance characteristics.

  • VISCOSITY INDEX IMPROVER - PRODUCT CODE: GL - 3015

    GL 3015 is a cost effective OCP viscosity modifier to meet global needs. A non-dispersant olefin copolymer viscosity modifier is specially engineered to provide low-temperature performance while maintaining excellent film strength and engine strength test performance.

    GL 3015 is an oil concentrate of an olefinic copolymer and is recommended primarily as a Viscosity Index Improver for crankcase lubricants particularly where excellent shear stability is desired.

  • ANTIOXIDANT - ZDDP - PRODUCT CODE: GL - 9334

    GL 9334 is a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate lubricating oil additive of exceptionally high thermal and hydrolytic stability. It is generally used with detergent, dispersant and acid neutralizing additives in engine oils. This additive provides oxidation, copper-lead bearing corrosion and wear control in diesel and gasoline engines. It is particularly effective under the severe temperature and load conditions encountered in highly supercharged diesel engines.

  • POLY ISO BUTYLENE SUCCINIC ANHYDRIDE - PIBSA - PRODUCT CODE: GL - 1940

    GL 1940 is an ash less, non-fatty, high viscosity surfactant additive.
    GL 1940 is a polyisobutenyl succinic anhydride (PIBSA) derived from polybutene. It is commonly used as an intermediate in the manufacture of oil soluble dispersants for lubricating oil applications and in the manufacturing of emulsifiers.

    FORMULATIONS: GL 1940 is recommended for use at 3 to 14% wt in base oils.

    GL 1188 is a premium antiwear hydraulic additive package designed to provide excellent filterability performance & also has very good air release properties required to meet modern fluid requirements. Developed for both high and low pressure hydraulic systems for industrial and mobile applications GL 1188 is also recommended for formulating thermally stable paper machine oils capable of performing in fine filtration systems.

    FORMULATIONS

    GL 4078 additive package is very versatile, it offers the ability to easily formulate high quality automatic transmission fluids, using a wide variety of base stocks. Fluids formulated with GL 4078 additive have been approved by all of the major original equipment manufacturers for both passenger car and commercial vehicle applications. The result is a package which enables straight forward blending of fluids capable of exceeding the requirements of the major OEM service fill specifications.

    FORMULATIONS

    GL 4078 additive is recommended for use at a treatment rate of 10.2% weight for GM DEXRON® III and Ford MERCON® performance levels in suitable base stocks and viscosity improver to formulate automatic transmission fluids meeting the requirements of Allison C-4, MAN 339 type V-2 and Z-3, MB 236.81, Voith 55.6336, ZF TE-ML-05L, ZF TE-ML-09, -03D,-4D, -14C,-16M , -17C, JASO 1-A,Voith H55.6335.xx (G607), and many other equipment manufacturer’s requirements.

  • CUTTING OIL ADDITIVE - PRODUCT CODE: GL - 1342

    Gl 1342 is Soluble Cutting Oil Additive. It is a brown color, napthenic or paraffinic oil soluble, a premium, cutting oil additive. It is a true synthetic metalworking coolant capable of easily handling most grinding, sawing, turning, boring, milling and drilling operations. GL 1342 forms a stable translucent solution over a wide range of water hardnesses and temperatures. This clarity greatly enhances workpiece visibility. This unique formula is non-corrosive to steel, cast iron, brass, copper, aluminum and carbide tooling.

    It leaves a light, oily, film that provides short-term indoor rust protection and, unlike other synthetic coolants, lessens the problem of sticking on machine ways and slides. It contains lubricity, defoaming and corrosion preventive additives. The latest and most effective bacterial protection is provided to prevent rancidity.

    Its emulsifier mixes readily with water to form stable emulsions and has best rust-preventative properties. It is inhibited against foaming. This product is suitable for a wide range of metal cutting and grinding operations. It will effectively remove heat from the work piece and can be applied as a stream, or in mist form.

    FORMULATIONS

    16 to 20% by weight In either napthenic or paraffinic base oils. Satisfactory emulsions can be formulated at 5:1 to 100:1 water to oil ratio Meeting the requirements of Soluble Cutting Oil, IS : 1115.

    PREPARATION OF SOLUBLE OILS

    To achieve a stable emulsion, always add oil to water – never add water to oil. For best emulsion stability and protection against rust and bacterial growth, use deionized or low hardness water ( < 450ppm). Begin by stirring one part oil into four parts water. Next, add water to this mixture to reach the desired dilution. The oil-water ratio may change depending upon operations.

  • RUST & CORROSION INHIBITOR ADDITIVE - PRODUCT CODE: GL - 1331

    FORMULATIONS
